PVS as we now know it started in 2020, where our telematics journey began as a concept and became a production-ready reality within 12 months. Our first telematics product launched in May of 2021, and the rest is history.
Our focus is to take the telematics industry to a new level. Our system gives users a single-view dashboard of mixed fleets, delivering real-time critical information to manufacturers, rental companies and contractors. Our in-house bespoke CANBUS capability for diesel and electric machinery includes live safety visualisation, Driver ID options and live reporting with data analysis. The design is run completely in-house, meaning that we’re in control of machine learning and AI predictions and have it all under licence – meaning your data is safe with us.
As a third-party provider, we’re in a unique position with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and dealers, collaboratively supporting each other and using their data to improve the system – we’re not reliant on any manufacturer to provide our customers with the high level of service they’ve become accustomed to.
Through detailed data analytics, PVS are able to build our customers a virtual picture of their activity on-site. This allows companies to make valuable changes that lead to greater efficiency, reducing costs and carbon emissions. Site managers can view their whole fleet on a single platform, allowing actionable changes to be made in real-time when inefficiencies are detected.
The solution provided by PVS is unique through the quantity and resolution of the data collected. We are working with a range of OEMs and leading industry experts to maximise the data available from machinery. Our platform provides data on location, engine status (e.g. fuel usage, CO2 produced and idle time tracking) and gives a live insight to what areas of the machine are working (e.g. hydraulic systems or auxiliary outputs). Not only are we able to collect all of this data –through one system, but we’re also able to process it and report it back to you, our customer, through our easy-to-use platform in real-time.
In the UK, the construction sector is responsible for 25% of greenhouse gas emissions. Data has a critical role to play in achieving Net Zero – both to benchmark current statistics as well as to measure progress towards the overall goal. Insights and analysis can be used from collected data to identify opportunities for improvements to efficiency and optimisation of processes on site.
With this in mind, PVS has developed a range of telematics units to fit to plant and off-highway machinery. These can be fitted to any brand or type of machine, both new and existing, and differ to any other OEM tracking solution as they deliver real-time data.
Our sytems are fitted to machinery such as excavators, dumpers, telehandlers and rollers. These machines are often poorly utilised, with operators tending to leave the machine running when not in use. This leads to considerable amounts of fossil fuels being converted into unnecessary carbon emissions. Through our platform, customers are able to actively identify when this is happening and help site managers plan work to avoid situations leading to excessive idle time. By cutting idle time down, fuel wastage and carbon emissions are also reduced – meaning we’re all working together to reach the industry goal of Net Zero.
Our team is made up of respected industry leaders in both the plant and mobile identity fields with significant experience and backgrounds in mobile telecoms, data verification, collation and visualisations, including legal and regulatory processes.
